Flight Operations Pilot – Job Description and Qualifications
Job Description
This position is suited for an individual whose interest is corporate aviation and a long-term investment in their professional success by serving as Trip Captain / PIC with the highest level of professionalism, competency, and proficiency on company aircraft while demonstrating the ability to work exceptionally well with others in a small team environment.
Responsible for planning and conducting flights (domestic and international) safely in a legal and consistent manner, and in compliance with all federal and international policies and in accordance with company policy, standards, and procedures. Also serve as SIC on flights, assisting fellow crew members and passengers as necessary and as directed.
In addition to flying duties, provide assistance to the scheduling staff with trip planning (including risk assessments, evaluations, and mitigations) and perform non-flight related ancillary duties as assigned, and assist the Director of Operations, Chief Pilot, and other staff as necessary.
Apart from any religious or disability considerations, open availability is needed to meet the needs of the business. If hired, the selected candidate will be required to provide proof of authorization to work in Canada and be legally able to travel to any country. Only applicants who meet the minimum job requirements will be considered.
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- License req: ATP / ATPL
- Open to license holders: FAA / TCCA
- Medical: First Class / Category 1
- Passport: Current U.S. or Canadian passport
- Driver's license: Current
- ICAO ELP: Level 4+
- International experience preferred
- Provide proof of pilot experience.
- Minimum of 4,000 hours total flight time.
- Minimum of 1,000 hours PIC in multi-engine aircraft.
- Minimum of 500 hours turbine flight time.
- Maintain aircraft type ratings/qualifications as required by the company.
- Preferred experience in Gulfstream G280 aircraft.
- Possess strong work ethic, integrity, and leadership skills.
- Exceptional trip planning, crew resource management (CRM), and problem-solving skills.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Provide positive, courteous service to all staff and passengers.
- Knowledgeable and experienced working and complying with an established SMS (department is IS-BAO Stage II certified).

Job Description
The Director of Aircraft Maintenance oversees the timely accomplishment of all continued airworthiness activities to the standards required by the authorities, ensuring that ACASS’s aircraft fleet is compliant, adequately maintained and safe for flight.
Key Accountabilities
• Lead and ensure the safe, compliant, and cost-effective operation of all aircraft maintenance activities.
• Oversee all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance events, including CAMO functions and maintenance supervision.
• Establish, maintain, and continuously improve maintenance processes, policies, and procedures aligned with company objectives.
• Implement and oversee risk management practices within the Aircraft Maintenance department.
• Optimize maintenance planning, including selection of service providers, locations, and timing to minimize aircraft downtime and costs.
• Drive operational efficiency, cost control, and overall aircraft performance while maintaining the highest safety and compliance standards.
• Provide leadership, direction, and day-to-day support to the Aircraft Maintenance team.
• Foster a positive, high-performance culture aligned with ACASS values.
• Set clear goals, define roles and responsibilities, and manage team performance through coaching, feedback, and performance reviews.
• Mentor and develop team members, ensuring strong communication, collaboration, and accountability across the department.
• Ensure full compliance with all applicable aviation regulations (Transport Canada, FAA, EASA, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, IOM, San Marino, etc.).
• Oversee and support Certificates of Airworthiness (C of A) renewals and act as technical coordinator during inspections when required.
• Conduct compliance audits and ensure adherence to maintenance programs, Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and Service Bulletins (SBs).
• Ensure all maintenance records, documentation, and audit materials are accurate, complete, and up to date.
• Review and approve maintenance-related expenditures, including service quotes and invoices, ensuring cost control and ROI.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, pilots, vendors, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Flight Operations, Aircraft Management, Sales, Legal, and Finance teams to ensure efficient issue resolution.
• Provide strategic and technical guidance to senior management on maintenance and compliance matters.
• Support seamless communication and coordination across all maintenance-related projects.
Education
• Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) License in good standing with Transport Canada.
• University degree preferred.
Experience
• 10+ years experience in the aviation industry with specific knowledge in the Engineering & Maintenance area, preferably in a managerial role overseeing daily aircraft maintenance planning and operations.
• 5+ years managing people and teams.
• Strong experience with Maintenance Tracking Systems (CAMP and CMP).
• Proven record of successful interactions in an international working environment.
Skills and Knowledge
• Strong knowledge of aviation regulations, airworthiness directives, and service bulletins.
• Solid understanding of aircraft maintenance programs and technical specifications.
• Proven leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate across teams and with external partners.
• Detail-oriented with strong administrative and documentation skills.
• Proficient in English; additional languages are an asset.

Canadian Council for Aviation and Aerospace (CCAA)
Overview: The Canadian Council for Aviation & Aerospace (CCAA) is one of the partners selected by the Federal Government to deliver the Student Work-Integrated Learning Program (SWILP). Working with employers and PSE institutions in the aviation and aerospace sector CCAA will administer wage subsidies to hire co-op students.
Available funding
- Employers may be eligible to receive a wage subsidy of 50% (up to $5000) to hire a student and may be eligible to receive 70% (up to $7000) if they hire under-represented groups including women in STEM, Indigenous students, persons with disabilities, recent immigrants and first year students
- Ontario employers may also be eligible for a tax credit of up to $3000 for the Co-operative Education Tax Credit
- Employers receiving other federal funding to hire the student will not be eligible to also receive SWILP funding
Eligible Employers
- Employers involved in the aero and aviation Industry
- Focus on occupations in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) and business
Eligible students
- Full-time students currently registered in a STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) or business program at a Canadian post-secondary education (PSE) institution
- Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or hold refugee status
- Must be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial legislation and regulations
