Transport Canada has indicated that the FAA rule banning jets weighing 75,000 lbs or less that are not stage 3 noise compliant may affect some older Hawker 125s, Falcon 20s, F28s and Lear 25s. They would like confirmation from the CBAA as to the exact number and types of aircraft flown by members that could be affected by this regulation. Transport is reviewing CBAA's submission as it prepares the final version of the regulations, scheduled to be published this spring. The CBAA has prepared a contingency plan that will be triggered if TC does not respond to its requested changes.

With our final submission to Transport Canada due on January 20th, consultations with members across Canada will continue until January 20th. Along with incorporating dozens of detailed recommendations from members, we are currently seeking support from other associations and are developing a contingency plan if TC’s response to our requested changes is negative.
