Industry gets positive response from TC on requests for improved UAV Oversight

Transport Canada has indicated they will address the concerns of a number of Canadian aviation associations, including the CBAA, regarding unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).  In a response to the coalition letter sent to Transport Minister Marc Garneau, TC has agreed to provide for a multifaceted approach to raise awareness of the safety impacts and consequences of interfering with manned aircraft operations, provide for a robust regulatory framework, improve the monitoring of UAVs around airports and in commercial airspace, continue to run public awareness campaigns, and increase enforcement action.
