ICAO’s Global Carbon-offsetting Scheme provides relief for smaller operators

The International Civil Aviation Organisation's (ICAO)  recently announced global carbon-offsetting scheme includes an exemption for smaller operators (those that emit fewer than 10,000 tonnes of CO2 on international flights annually and for aircraft under 5,700 kg MTOW), and also provides a much-needed standardized international framework on emissions.   Our international body,  IBAC, was instrumental in achieving the exemptions, and we thank its Director General, Kurt Edward, and its governing board, especially vice chair, Scott McPherson, CBAA’s representative at IBAC,  for this important achievement,.  We also applaud ICAO for recognizing that small operators require different solutions.  For more information, please click here for the IBAC press release.
