EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS HIGHLIGHTS

Don’t miss out on these additional sessions and get ready for the future as CBAA 2019 draws on subject matter experts to work with you to identify challenges and map out solutions to the issues facing you today – and tomorrow.

Mental Health Matters
This session will provide the latest information on key issues affecting mental health and behaviour in business aviation. It will start by examining the factors that affect performance, including stress, fatigue and sleep deprivation as well as issues that affect a person’s daily life, such as substance abuse (including cannabis), depression, anxiety and suicide. From there, we will move forward to the topic of resilience and discuss countermeasures to improve safety and comply with Canadian regulatory requirements
604 Hot Topics & Best Practices Round Table Discussion
With input from business aircraft owners, chief pilots and directors of aviation from some of Canada’s leading corporations, this session will feature face-to-face and open discussions among Canadian 604 operators. This unique session gives you the opportunity to share your experiences, concerns and questions with your peers and colleagues in confidence, and then present your questions to senior government and agency representatives the next morning.

Tax and Financial Planning for Business Aircraft Owners
The new administrative policy on the personal use of aircraft has added a new layer of complexity to an already complex task.  Do you know all the ins-and-outs of Canada’s income tax laws to ensure that you are paying what the law requires and not one cent more?  Find out what you need to know to mitigate your tax burden and ensure that you can maximize the use of your business aircraft. This session is highly recommended for tax and financial professionals as well as BA operators.

Presented by:
Jamieson Collins, Attorney, Jamieson Collins and Company
Steven Sitcoff, Lawyer, Spiegel Sohmer

Crew Resource Management Re-enactment
The regulations may have been delayed, but they are rapidly approaching.  There’s a lot to learn and to understand as you integrate the regulations and new processes into your operations.  FlightPath International, a global leader in providing integrated training solutions will provide some answers and a way forward with a special CRM re-enactment.
Presented by: Mark Halloran, Director of Training and Instructor and Andy Galambvary, Senior Flight Instructor, FlightPath International.
