Introduction to IS-BAO - June 11, 2012
IBAC presents IS-BAO Workshops to assist operators who are implementing, or considering implementing, the IS-BAO, to accredit potential IS-BAO auditors and to provide information to other interested parties.
The Workshop outline includes:
- Background and general information and benefits of IS-BAO,
- Detailed discussion about IS-BAO standards,
- Implementing IS-BAO,
- Safety Management Systems (SMS),
- Risk assessment and mitigation techniques, and
- Audit processes.
To gain full benefit from the workshop participants are encouraged to bring a copy of the IS-BAO manual, which includes the SMS Toolkit, and Internal Audit Manual.
The IS-BAO manual and materials are not provided as part of this introductory workshop but can be purchased separately through this link http://www.ibac.org/is_bao/ordering-is-bao. Classroom copies of the IS-BAO are available for reference and additional workshop materials are provided.
Workshop Fee – Introduction to IS-BAO Workshop: $500 USD per attendee.

Auditor Accreditation Workshop - June 12, 2012
Please note that there are new requirements specified in IS-BAO Policy 2010 – 1 for Auditors seeking accreditation
Note that auditors applying for initial accreditation must also attend the Introduction to IS-BAO Workshop.
This new workshop is required for the initial and renewal accreditation of auditors but is also available to operators and other interested parties seeking more information on the audit process and who are NOT seeking auditor accreditation.
The Workshop outline includes:
- IS-BAO concept, history and status,
- Auditing basics,
- Audit process,
- SMS evaluation,
- Following the protocols,
- Audit reports, and
- Auditor issues.
Workshop Fee – Auditor Accreditation Workshop: $750USD per attendee for persons NOT seeking accreditation.
